Take Time

Take Time For…

When I was a child, our family church – St Mark’s Anglican – printed it’s own cook book.  Always planning ahead, my mother bought copies for my two sisters and me.  It is our “go to” cook book for the family favourites (best brownie recipe ever).  As you can imagine, my copy is now a little tattered and held together rather loosely. While thumbing through the cook book recently, a page fell out entitled “Take Time”.  Wisdom never grows old and I wanted to share it with you.  (I did add a couple of my own – can you guess which ones?)

Clock“Take Time”

Take time to Work – it is the price of success.

Take time to Play – it is the secret of youth.

Take time to Read – it is the foundation of knowledge.

Take time to Sing – it fills you with joy.

Take time to Help and Enjoy Friends – it is the source of happiness.

Take time to Love – it is the one sacrament of life.

Take time to Dream – it hitches the soul to the stars.

Take time to Laugh – it is the singing that helps with life’s loads.

Take time to be in Nature – it is a way to feed the soul.

And especially for Thanksgiving…

Take time to give thanks – it lifts your spirits and warms your heart.

Is there one of the above that really resonates with you?  Is there one you’ve been neglecting?  What if you take time to bring that into your life today?

Wishing you a blessed and Happy Thanksgiving.
