What’s Giving Got To Do With It?

In the midst of all that is going on in the world, are you feeling concerned and anxious?

Wishing you could do something but wondering “what” and “how”?

I know I was.

But then, with these mixed emotions swirling around, I recalled something I read about giving. It was from “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success” by Deepak Chopra

Here is what Chopra wrote about the Law of Giving:

“…the most powerful forms of giving are non-material. The gifts of caring, attention, affection, appreciation and love are some of the most precious gifts you can give and they don’t cost you anything.”

So what does that have to do with you (and me) and the world?

fotolia_heart-spray_xsIt’s simply this…

In the midst of all that is going on in the world, you are not powerless. You can do something.

You can choose to keep life’s most precious gifts circulating – caring, attention, affection, appreciation and love.

It’s done in a moment – in the smile you give someone, a thank you, a “well done”, a hug, or shared laughter.

There’s More
Chopra goes on to say:

The universe operates through dynamic exchange…What goes up must come down; what goes out must come back. In reality, receiving is the same thing as giving, because giving and receiving are different aspects of the flow of energy in the universe.”

“The more you give, the more you will receive, because you will keep the abundance of the universe circulating in your life. In fact, anything that is of value in life only multiplies when it is given.”

Those precious gifts that you give to the world – caring, attention, affection, appreciation and love – you will receive back as part of the flow of the Universe.

One More Thing…And It’s Important
Part of giving and receiving is receiving. You keep the energy flowing by being open to receiving the precious gifts that are offered to you.

Say “yes” to offers of help, accept expressions of appreciation and gratitude, allow random acts of kindness, let love and joy in.

You can make a difference in the world by giving (and receiving) your most precious gifts.

Let’s do it!
